The slough behind our house began filling with lake water in January.
That in itself was a blessing in our water starved area.
We never expected it to continue this long, but with glorious snow in the mountains and the warm temperatures we have been having, the snow is melting, thus being released from our lake into the rivers and sloughs that act as flood control.
It is comforting to know that the long release is doing nothing but helping our ground water replenish...at least a bit...we pray.
SPF remembers floating in the slough with her brother way back when and wanted to do it again.
Since the water is basically snowmelt, she thought wearing her wetsuit might be just the ticket.
It was still cold, but she persevered.
And away she went...
Again and again.
As soon as her bare ankles became numb, there was no stopping this kidnick!
It was a pretty perfect afternoon.
