Fibs, Family, Friends and Fun

As you know, my Hubby celebrated his birthday last Friday.
It was a new decade kind of birthday that screams celebration.
Months ago, an idea sprouted in my mind.
I wanted to surprise him with a dinner where all three kidnicks would be present...as the present.
With LPP in college 3 1/2 hours away without a car, covert plans were formulated.
I knew I could get to Santa Barbara and back with our girl in tow in time for dinner, but it all needed to be done in secret.
We had a couple obstacles to overcome in the cover up, but friends came through and my parents assisted.
(The slice of cake allegedly sent to LPP, never was)
His day began with a birthday sign,  balloons and a special coffee.

SPF had a basketball game that I would miss as well as an awards assembly.
When Hubby asked SPF if there was a basketball game, she answered,
"The 'A' team is playing".
Truth.
She just omitted the fact that her 'B' team would also be playing.
The awards assembly notice was never displayed on the calendar for Hubby to see.
Friends took photos of the assembly for us.
So thoughtful.

My mom picked her up from school where she also got dressed for dinner.
In the end, we pulled it off.
I dropped LPP off at her grandparents'  home with her sister.
Their brother picked them up and headed to the restaurant.
Hubby thought Chris had offered to take SPF to dinner so that we could have a date night.
As I turned a specific direction on the way to dinner, he exclaimed,
"Yes!"
We were indeed heading to his favorite restaurant and when we were seated, it was at a table with his three favorite people waiting for him.

It could not have gone any better.
He was surprised.
He was amazed.
He was happy.
And then he was full.
Lemon Meringue Cheesecake was the icing on the cake, so to speak.
This birthday will not soon be forgotten.
