A Look Back

Today is the first day of Autumn and the temperature is promising to feel like it as well.
At least for a couple days.
It is weather like this that help me forget the heat of the summer and the fog of the winter.

I still post pics on Instagram, but haven't done a blog post like this in ages.
Looking back at last September in photos was fun.
Who knew that this year, LPP would be in Europe...the skies would again be filled with hot air and smoke much of the time.
BUT we had rain last year.
And friends who thought of me just when I needed it most.
What nice memories.

I do adore this season.

Seeing my baby boy for the first time after he left for college, made me happy.
I kind of like seeing him more often now.

This was a fun thing to do.
We have done similar things during December.
Making people smile is a powerful thing.

This is still a favorite around here.
It also ships to college students perfectly in a small priority mail box.

Last weekend, we had guests with us...well, family guests.

Mari and her family spent two nights here and got to visit with Mom and Dad, my sister and her family as well as her YFU advisor.
Patty was the go between when Mari lived with our family.
She checked to make sure the arrangements worked for everyone throughout the year.
She and Mari got along wonderfully and have remained friends.
Anyway, Patty and her husband had dinner with our parents and Mari's family last weekend.
The stories around the table included those with scary critters in them...mountain lions, bears, snakes etc.  They made an impact on Mari's son and daughter.
Enough so that sitting around the bon fire that evening, their Dad played into those stories, as well as coyotes, and had them startle at every sound from the darkness.
This knowledge might have pushed them over the edge.
It's okay.
They can move with me.

Happy Thursday!
