In the years that I have been involved in 4-H with our kidnicks, the 4-H Fair has changed, as have what projects we are involved in.
I remember the days when we were up at the crack of dawn to get to a neighboring town to show sheep and goats.
I remember spending entire days there cheering our kids as well as their friends on.
I remember watching our son sell his lamb in the auction.
They were fun times.
For a couple years, there were no market animals and the event moved to our local fairground.
I loved that because it is 5 minutes from our house.
This will be the second year that the 4-H Fair is being held at the same time and location as an Antique Farm Equipment Show.
This is a terrific opportunity for more of the community to see what the 4-H kiddos have been doing. and how hard they have worked.
There will be livestock shows, a dog achievement competition as well as all of the indoor projects.
SPF tried her hand at buttercream frosting for the first time as well as entering her chocolate cake for tasting.
She entered a couple photos as well as a table setting.
Regardless of the outcome, she has had fun getting everything ready.
