A Look Back

November 12, 2014
Our youngest adores being outside.
Doesn't really matter what she is doing.
Her birthday gift last year was this zip line .
As I watched her riding her bike in the rain through puddles recently, it dawned on me that her bike was getting to small for her 11 year old body.
Because she never complained or asked for a bigger one, I was late to the realization that it was time .

She was a happy bike rider last weekend.
She has thanked us every day since.
She goes out to just look at it before school.

I want to be an escort on an Honor Flight someday.
What a gift it would be to be witness to that.

Apple Butter is probably my all time favorite preserve.
And my Aunt Nell's recipe is the best!
I need to make more.

Our town's Veteran's Day Parade is one to behold as well as the Band-A-Rama that follows.
Truly something this town should be proud of.

I make no bones about the fact that I am not a baker.
I recently signed up to make cookies AND cakes for our daughter's Halloween Carnival Cake Walk.  I made cute little tags and posted them on Instagram.
A friend commented that she had been happy that she accomplished putting cute ribbons on hers.
I assured her that my tags were smiply smoke and mirrors.

Happy Thursday!
