Labor Day...Then and Now

When I was growing up, Labor Day truly marked the last day of summer vacation.
I remember playing in the pool and watching the MDA Telethon with Jerry Lewis.
Now, our kidnicks have already been in school for 3 weeks.
Labor Day does not consist of rest and relaxation and excitement for the start of a new school year.
It consists of textbooks and laptops decorating our dining room table.

And honestly, it feels like a life raft after being thrown in the deep end of the pool.
Labor Day is a respite from the school week grind.
I am grateful it is here.

This extra day off was just a brief respite for us. Life is busy, as it is no doubt for you and your family!
