89 Years Young (and a recipe)

My mother in law turned 89 years old on Friday and we celebrated with food, family and fireworks. This woman adores her grandchildren and is not camera shy in the slightest.

Her grandchildren and most other people call her Baba.  I believe that began when her first grandson couldn't pronounce "Ava" (Portuguese for Grandmother) properly.
Regardless the origin, the name stuck and she has been Baba for more that 3 decades. Baba is deeply religious and has always been generous to those she comes in contact with.
After we ate, we went outside to watch fireworks together and just be.
It was a nice way for summer vacation to begin winding down.

Oh...I made this Fruit Salsa and thought you might enjoy as well.
Jen's Fruit Salsa
1 small box fresh raspberries, quartered
10 - 12 strawberries, diced finely
1 Granny Smith Apple, peeled and finely diced
1 -2 TBL jam (I usually used fig or apple butter because that is what I have)
1 lime, juiced
Toss all in a bowl and let flavors marry for a couple hours.
Serve with Cinnamon Chips. (Cut flour tortillas into wedges, lightly spray with Pam and sprinkle with Cinnamon Sugar.  Bake at 350* for 8 - 10 minutes.
